Manufacturing reference
A spiral bound board book with a printed keyboard strip built into the lower half.
A keyboard along the bottom edge is a row of contacts under a printed panel, and it changes the whole binding decision. The spiral has to sit above an electronics area. The board has to be thick enough to hold contacts without flexing, and the panel has to be laminated so it survives repeated pressing. The strip also sets the trim size, because a playable keyboard has a minimum key width that a small hand can hit.
Use this reference when the audio is played by the child rather than triggered by a page. Settle the key count and key width first, then the audio map from key to note or phrase, and decide how the battery compartment is fixed and where it sits relative to the spiral.
