A flat ray shape, which is the closest thing in the range to a two dimensional sculpt.
A flat body is two large panels and a shallow gusset, so the character sits in the outline and the surface decoration rather than in a three dimensional form. That makes it cheap to pattern and unforgiving about placement, because there is nowhere for a misplaced feature to hide. The contrast wing tips and the pale face panel are cut parts sewn into the outline, and the thin tail is the part most likely to catch in packing.
Use this when the brief needs a character that lies flat, ships flat and reads from directly above. The questions worth settling are the gusset depth, which decides how much the body stands up, and whether the markings are printed on the fabric or built from cut parts.
