The gallery covers the taupe, green and yellow builds. They share the shell, the dorsal bumps, the orange nose, the round display with its ring of weekday and alarm icons, and the same three side buttons. They differ only in the colour of the moulded case. Putting the display on the flank rather than the face is what lets a character shell carry a legible readout at all.
Use this reference when the product is sold as a routine tool for a young child, and when you are deciding how many colourways a range needs. Decide how the remaining time is shown, whether the alert is light, sound or both, and how a parent sets it, since a timer a child can reset by accident is a returned product.

- Enclosure and tooling A moulded shell is steel, so the shape has to be settled before it is cut. Agree the parting lines, the texture, the grille and the light guide at one review, since every unit carries all four.
- Power route Replaceable cells, a rechargeable pack and a mains adaptor lead to three different products for the parent, the test house and the freight forwarder. Pick one before the case is drawn.
- Light and sound behaviour Write down the behaviour rather than describing it: brightness steps, colour set, volume limit, timer length and the state the product returns to. That document is what the firmware is built from.
